Generations Of Faith Registration
Time |
As you can
tell by the banner on the church, it is GoF registration time. Since this faith
formation initiative intends to embrace everyone and support the Christian life
of all parishioners, we encourage everyone to sign up. To say it another way:
Generations of Faith is very different from CCD or religious education that
many of us grew up with, which were mainly classes to teach religious knowledge
to children. Although GoF particpants certainly learn a great deal about
Catholic faith, GoF has a deeper and much more important purpose: to help all
of us to become more faithful and obedient to the Lords call as we live
our daily lives. It does that by building on the foundation of community, the
Sunday Eucharist, and the profoundly formative influence of parents on their
children.
The Sunday evening session has been closed to new
registration, but spaces are still available in the Wednesday evening, Saturday
evening and Sunday noon sessions. |

Rite Of Christian Initiation Of Adults (RCIA) -
Reception For New Catechumens |
|
At the 8 am Mass on September 12th, two adults
will be entering our parish RCIA process in a Rite of Acceptance into the
Catechumenate. As part of their formation in the faith they will be sent forth
from the assembly each Sunday after the homily to reflect on the scripture
readings of the day. As their journey progresses, members of the assembly can
give significant support to these Catechumens with prayer and by making them
feel welcome in the Church. Everyone is invited to drop by the parish center
hall for a short reception over coffee and munchies around 9:00 am, after the 8
am Mass on the 12th. It will be a chance to meet our Catechumens and to
extend hospitality as they take this important step closer to the Easter
sacraments. Please also include in your prayers their sponsors and the team
members who will be journeying with them. |

Liturgy Of The Word For
Children |
Liturgy of
the Word for Children is celebrated 2 Sundays a month at the 10:30 Mass and on
one Saturday 5 pm Mass. At the Liturgy of the Word for Children, our children
hear the Scriptures proclaimed in language they can understand. They sing
psalms and acclamations and engage in interactive discussions about the
Scriptures of the day, helping them understand how the Word of God relates to
their lives. We need new volunteers to sustain this program. If youd like
to share your gifts with the children of our community, please contact Bob
Mackin: robert.mackin@gmail.com, (978) 635-9524 or Beth McDonough:
beth.mcdonough@concorp.com, (978) 264-4974.

Welcome Home Catholics |
| Some of us
who left the Church know that "coming home" changes lives. Please, everyone
spread the good news to every inactive Catholic you know. Our parish is
offering a Welcome Home outreach to those who may be pondering how best to live
out their spirituality in a personal relationship with God. We begin on
Thursday, Sept. 23 at our parish center. Our six sessions will be held on
consecutive Thursdays at 7 p.m. The sessions are presented with warmth, welcome
and empathy. We listen with compassion. We answer questions. We briefly present
information on the Church, Sacraments, the Bible and Reconciliation, followed
by discussions. Hospitality includes beverages and snacks as well as loving and
nourishing explanations about our Church and its incredible riches that are
available to all who call on Christ's name. This is our faith. We will meet in
the building just to the rear of the church. A priest will be in the
parking lot to show you the way. We look forward to meeting everyone who walks
through the door. For more information, call Jill Pontius at 978-263-7397.

Parish EMail Distribution
List |
Thanks to a
generous donation from a parishioner, we have just subscribed to Constant
Contact, an email distribution service that allows you to select which emails
from St. Elizabeth you will receive. For those of you with kids at RJ
Grey or AB, this is the same service that those schools are using. It is
our goal to have all parish and Generations of Faith large email distributions
to be served through Constant Contact this year. Please help our efforts by
taking a brief moment to do the following:
Click on the Email
Sign-Up link and complete the registration form. You will then receive a confirmation in your email that you are
subscribed to your interest groups. You may unsubscribe at any time by
scrolling to the bottom of any email and clicking on the unsubscribe link.
Thank you, in advance for taking the time to do this. Hopefully our
communications will be streamlined and efficient! |
